You can buy terrarium scenes for the tank walls. greenbank surgery It will beautify, and possibly help with heat problem. I think the best idea is a 2nd CHE. Make sure you get the wire clamp, as suggested by Jo. A good place to buy accessories is www.drsmithandfoster.com Take care and happy holidays! But they don't put out anything useful like UVA/UVB, or white-spectrum light. I wouldn't use a blacklight, myself, because I don't know if the odd light would irritate his eyes. A CHE is generally the better solution, if you can find one...they're usually difficult to locate because not many stores carry them. ALWAYS make sure to use a wire-cage clamp lamp, because a solid-sided one will overheat the CHE and crack the ceramic almost instantly. Maybe another che would work. You could also wrap him up in a blanket near the che so he is closer to the warmth. Spike is living in the basement with me. This was no problem during the Summer greenbank surgery and early Fall. But now that Winter has decidly settled in and it is a brisk 57 F in my room his tank is barely holding at 74. I am not sure how low it will drop tonight. Its been darn near 65 the past few mornings but was a bit warmer in the tank before night. I've covered the tank w/ towels that cover it entirely except for where the ceramic heat emmitter is located, which is where he is hanging out lately since he is pretty much sleeping away the days. Looking for suggestions on how to keep it warm enough for him w/out it dropping below 65 over night. Another che? Or perhaps a black light for a bit of extra heat? I'm afraid of putting the space heater near the tank, I don't want to roast him. Mom won't let me move him upstairs. LOL But there really isn't room for Spike either up there. greenbank surgery Thanks in advance!
