It is possible, if they carnt they may be able to do a voucher to your vets, for a certain amount of money.... specialty pet products Do you have to pay up front for you vets? could you pay so much now and so much in a few weeks? my vet does, they give you 4 weeks to pay your bill, you could ask your vets... Have you shopped around to see if you can get it cheaper, what about the PDSA? Michelle
You have to be receiving certain benefits to qualify for RSPCA/PDSA, used to be housing Benefit or Income Support although this may have changed since I worked there. Sometimes as well the local councils have neutering schemes, giving you a voucher to go towards the cost of neutering at your vets. Ring both your local RSPCA/PDSA, specialty pet products they can only say no and if they can help then great.
Hi, We have just had our dog castrated and it cost us 170 as the cost the vet tells you is normally worked out on weight, size, breed and any complications. We also opted for a blood test, more for piece of mind as you never know. I personally would "shop around" other local vets, pdsa [but think thats only if you are on benefits]. specialty pet products I know a London specialty pet products rescue centre was doing castration and microchipping at a reduced price, but that was a few weeks ago. I personally saved up for my boys op as it was alot of money to find in one go. Good luck.
income support/jobseekers allowance are not regarded at the PDSA, if you receive specialty pet products any housing benefit or council tax benefit then you should qualify with the PDSA but im not 100% sure on that.
We specialty pet products had our dog castrated in February as private patients at PDSA, it cost 100 (he is a collie cross, so is quite big), i know this is still alot of money but cheaper than private vets! it has been great as in the last couple of weeks he has really begun to calm down and is now much easier to walk etc.
Hi, I recently got 90 paid towards my vet bill by the PDSA, but it only covers illness etc, they do not cover castration(I was on housing allowance). I have a Newfoundland and it is costing 109 for his "D-Day!!", so definitely shop around, as he is a big boy(65kilos!!)
