WH, For those out there who can just about still afford pet insurance can I recommend Nicky at VIP, a broker who will sort the wheat from the chaff re.policies and keeps us updated each year at renewal time as to if policy still good value. idxx As a retired idxx dog handler/vet nurse and the owner of 4 monsters posing as hounds she has probably saved us a small fortune over the years. And to digress (as usual) for any owners out there who have no close family etc to help if they themselves fall ill the worry of a pet unattended at home can be a major issue please check out the cinnamon trust who can help find a dog walker if you are immobile , and they also have ‘kennels idxx ‘ which are home from home for pets whose owners have passed away and they never destroy any animal. idxx We have a centre near us in Cornwall and it is the most tranquil happy atmosphere and caters for all pets from horses& goats to cats & dogs. They provide a window sticker so emergency services know to contact them if an incident occurs.
